Now wait a minute.... I'm poor as a Church mouse. Some of my purchases takes months of saving my dollars to go out and pick up. Most don't but still, I only have a low end Gibson Faded SG and it was a gift. Be patient and work hard and things will start coming to you.

The education you speak of is the first and foremost important thing that should be on your mind at the moment.
You do good in School and hopefully the job you obtain afterwards will reward you with enough money to purchase whatever your young heart desires.

Don't be a Fool !! Stay in School.

How y'all like that? Not one mention of my crippler.:laugh2:

Stratto, I always thought that church mice were best known for being quiet:laugh2:

Yugo: part of your experience may be related to the radii of the respective fingerboards. Fenders, for the most part, are more curved and feel a little 'easier' to play as the increased curve can make certain things easier, like getting all six strings properly fretted for a barre chord - since you don't have to get your index finger completely straight. It may not seem it, but you are getting more leverage and body mechanical advantage.

Part 2, if you are going to college, buy a used beater. First, it'll save you money and you will still get a great guitar. Second, when you get to college, you will learn that not everyone there was brought up to be considerate of others. People will avail themselves of your stuff without asking or giving it a second thought. If that results in a ding in a mint guitar, it's going to burn your ass a lot more than if it's just a little more mojo. Plus, with a real player guitar, you can feel comfortable doing all your own work on it (and mods) without worrying about messing it up (just do not use a soldering iron in a dorm).

not to worry, in mexico there are not many dorms, people steal everyone stuff so much that its better to rent an apartement or a whole house along with close friends to stay in if college is out of town. im going to a college thats just outside of my town (like 20 mins from my home or so) so i dont have to worry about someone giving me a hard time when im soldering or playing, my brother plays his drumkit inside the house also ( his room its on its way to become soundproof :thumb: ) im really careful when handling this guitar because of the finish, but i get what you're saying, thanks for advice :)

as far as becoming easier to play i totally agree, i tried to imitate angus young right hand since 2 years ago, and i read somewhere that he hits the strings hard but does not dig into them. so then i started teaching myself how to make that AC/DC come out from my hands instead of an amp, having done that when i play the strat i dont hit the pickups because of it or the volume knob, and the guitar feels great like you said. thanks for your post :D

I love my strat. But now and then when I am chugging some rhythm on the neck pup my hand will, invariably, smack the selector switch and put it on the middle pup. Annoying but livable...

I am an old bastard with a bad back that sits when they play so no - I don't stand like Jimmy Page :D

If I was hitting the switch a lot I would not play the strat - it's just some tunes where I manage to hit it.
