I pulled a small tick off my hip Sunday and thought nothing of it... Ive had lots of them on me before living in the country. Anyways... I started to feel sick a few days later and the area where i was bitten got very swollen and itchy. What really alarmed me was that my lymph node in the crease of my leg at my thigh had swollen up and gotten hard as a rock, it felt like a golf ball under the skin... very painful! So i went to the Dr and she told me that it was a chance that I might be infected with limes and that the best course of action was to go ahead and do the full treatment, 21 days of antibiotics twice a day... big ass horse pills! So.... the good news is that the doc said that when limes is caught early on that its not a big deal and they can blast it out of you with the antibiotics... She also said its a possibility that it was just a really nasty bite and caused a bad infection in my body... either way im glad I caught it early! So if any of you folks get bitten by a tick and start feeling sick our out of the ordinary, go to your Dr!

Dude...sorry to hear that! Best of luck, and thanks for the warning.

It's that time of year again.

I've had it three times now. Not fun. But yes, if you catch it early you shuld be all set. Make sure to either eat lots of yogurt, for the active cultures, or take acidopholis daily while on the anit-biotics. It helps to replace the good bacteria in our system that gets killed off when taking long-term anti-bioitcs.

True Lyme disease is an extremely rare disease, which gets reported to the CDC. There hasn't been a true Lyme case in Washington state yet. All of them ended up being severe viral reactions.

It's very good that you caught it in time man!

My old boss's wife had lime disease and she didnt catch it in time. She didn't know until like over a year later. Apparently if you don't treat it fast enough it can eventually attack your nervous system and your brain! It can actually cause someone to go into dementia..:wtf: My ex-boss said his wife has times when she goes kinda nuts and they have to take her to get pills and stuff. He said eventually it will take over her mind. Very scary stuff.
