Isn't that still putting money in Henry's pocket?
But also 'voting' in a way. We prefer this, to that other monstrosity in the making.
Isn't that still putting money in Henry's pocket?
Oh,...and they let go a really good Artist Relations manager and replaced him with Henrys kid! The guy who posts meaningful things on facebook like, "My Daddy can beat up your Daddy!" Or posting pics of a trashed kitchen and bragging that he celebrated Cinco de Mayo in style!
That is class and professionalism there people! Take notes!
Why pay for an established and well liked Artist Relations Manager when you can get your goofy kid to do it!
And maybe if we're really lucky and wish upon a star, that goof will one day RUN GIBSON!
Put black insulation tape over the logo. I've seen it done!
Does anyone have a link to the post in Historics for the Holy Son's FB page?
I just don't get why people and companies feel the need to constantly fvck with stuff. You made what many people, and I would say most people here, think is a perfect thing. Nothing you do to it, is going to make it better. Like changing one single note in Jimi's solo in All Along the Watchtower. It can't be improved on. It can be fine tuned to personal preferences, but the chassis needed no improvement. But no, lets gash great big holes in the sumbitch, cuz it might be too heavy for some players. Tough, get a great big strap or a SG. But why mess with the best sounding guitar body ever built? Why? Nothing Gibson has done since 1959 has improved the basic guts of that instrument. Its supposed to be heavy, its a SOLID body. Not a semi-hollow one, which is really what they are. Call it weight relieved, or chambered or whatever, its not solid anymore. That great big dense heavy hunk of wood is what made Lesters sound like Lesters. Its shocking that there is only one model of Gibby Lester that isn't hollow. And it has to add cost to the thing to do it, its another dude they gotta pay to take the wood out. Why? And now lets glue a butt ugly piece o electronic junk on the back of all of them., cuz, well, we can. And we can sell it to them as an "improvement". I love Gibson guitars, always have, always will, but what they are building now, is not a Gibson Les Paul. The changes are too profound to call it the same model. Its truly a shame.
hahaha, nitro covered burst toilet ring with maple cap/lid.![]()
"Only a Gibson is good enough.......to poop on."
The problem is that, unlike almost all other appliances, guitars can last a lifetime. So with a constant production outflow you'll have an ever increasing pool of available guitars. So any new 'traditional' guitar has to compete with the available pool of second-hand guitars.
Therefore it makes sense to innovate. However, to force these 'innovations' on almost your entire catalog is utterly deranged.
Just out of curiosity, if Henry has owned gibson for so long, how come shit only hit the fan the past few years?
