Well guys, I reached out to my uncle to see if his son had any guitars he was willing to sell, and upon their conversion, my cousin decided to just give me an ol gal he barely played. It is a Chinese fender modern player tele plus. Don’t get me wrong I much would have preferred the Mexican series because I just don’t like the idea of Chinese or Japanese fenders, UNTIL… I held this guitar. This guitar feels very similar to my great grandads 78 the Paul. Smaller thinner body, but dead weight, which reminds me of norlin gibsons. Which I LOVE. Here she is. Honey burst finish. 5 way switch. Basically a strat that sound like a tele and a tele that sound like a strat. Humbucker has coil split. The only thing I don’t like visually is the black plastic truss rod nut. I like the heel adjustment rods better than headstock adjustment too. However, it matches that classic yellow maple and black dot canvas that I just love. Definitely gonna be a top 3. Especially since I only own three guitars.

what were you playing before? just curious. nice tele
Thanks. I also have a 2008 epiphone les Paul. If I knew then what I know now, I would’ve gone to squier instead of epiphone. Currently it has been in the process of being rebuilt for the last 3 years may as well say. All I gotta do now is wire the pickups and get some strings so I can determine the bridge location. (The original studs were incorrect from factory and could not intonate the g string all the way) I played this and realized how different it felt but I loved it. I had been playing mine and my grandads acoustic for a while and have gotten used to it being so heavy. Play this and now it’s all coming back. Woke up this morning to play it for a second time and it’s like I’ve been used to this for years of pick hand placement and fretting hand. I’ll show some pics.

it’s a beater but it’s great. Ironic I’ve been trying to turn my les Paul into a tele for so long when I actually get one, it has a humbucker.

A fantastic Telecaster!!

(I know, I owned one just like it, from 2012 until just a couple years ago.)

Versatile, fabulous pine wood, great feel, and one of the finest (smoothly-finished) necks I have ever played!

I only sold it because a mate of mine at work coveted it so.

:)

Good looking Tele! I'm a fan of the belly cut too. I had an American Pro Tele and ended up returning it at least in part due to finding my Strat much more comfy to play.

Yessir. I actually played a higher end tele about a 2 grand guitar and honestly this one feels significantly better at 1500 bucks cheaper too!

Yessir very smooth. Feels like a gun stock that has had baby powder rubbed on it for sure. Very incredibly considering most glossy finishes are sticky.

Aaah, the first Fender..
A traumatic experience indeed, but be strong, you'll grow past it! What doesn't kill you and all that.

May you soon recover your mental health and gracioucly return to the humbucking, set neck fold.
No sin too great, all is forgiven here.
No feedback either. You confess, we hear it loud and clear.

I'll pray for you brother.
Some of us revel in the darkness.

Thank you sir. It’s not the classic tuxedo it used to be but I’ll bet it’ll turn a few heads in future hunky tonk bars. Rough and ready are better than neat and tidy I believe. Thumb sliding down the center and gripping upwards of the ninth fret are sure to put the final “hair gel” touches soon to come.
