I wonder what the difference is between the American Special neck and the Highway One necks 15 years ago.
It was basically the same spec as the American Standard neck but with the CBS headstock for cosmetic reasons.
I have two of them.

$500 seems a little pricey. I've made whole guitars for that. I just made a Telecaster thinline style guitar. This was my first bolt on neck guitar. I love the simplicity.

They went to the large headstock with the 2006 update. American Special replaced the Highway One in 2012... my 2017 American Special neck still says "Highway One" on the bar code part number sticker on the heel.
Jumbo frets, satin finish, it is a SWEET playing neck. The only way to make it better would be to give it a nice "V" profile.

I considered a budget build but I decided I wanted a USA Fender neck. Seemed like a good deal for a USA Fender neck.

He was asking $459, I offered $375 and he countered at $350.

So I bought it. I wonder if he'll ship it.

Well the neck arrive in perfect condition. Hat's off to HooDoo Guitars. I'm starting to like it.

More parts on the way. Just need to find another black speed knob and a single coil.

Very nice. I normally wouldn't go with maple on maple, but it has appeal.

If you do the rear with a translucent wine red, those purple stripes will just become dark wine red accents.

That's not a bad idea.

Neckplate and tuners arrived on Saturday so it's strung up and set up. Still need a neck pup and a volume knob. I'll try to get some pics up later....
