Man, I'm listening to this on the crappy speakers built into my laptop and... wow! Bitchin' guitar aside, the guy has a crazy strong attack that works so well for getting a Strat to pop. Also reminded me that I really need to start using my pinky finger for more than just chords; he can bend with his pinky like nobody's business!

Thanks for sharing! :)

G.A.S! I need a Fender! It seems that I also need to practice more. Fantastic!

Matthias Waßer has that effect on many people.....
But take a step back, dive into his YouTube stuff and remember:-
He is human, just like you - be inspired, NOT put off.

Ditto...He didn't get that good over night, it takes many years of practice and persistance to get this good.

That man is a total master of the guitar. He knows that eaxct Strat better than anyone on earth and it's like an extension of his hands. He must know every ding and scratch on it. He seems to know where every note fits and how they work together perfectly.

Great talent.... but I could never get into that very thin, quacky, fender sound. Still can't.

It's the way he digs in and almost pops/slaps the strings. If he were picking lightly, it would sound completely different. Also, whatever he was playing through was not very loud at all so we were hearing not just the amplified guitar, but also the sound of it unplugged - you could even hear the switches clicking over top of the amp when he stomped on his pedals.

it ain't a contest

Still, it's not natural to be that good. Those who exemplify that level of skill spend significant more time practicing rudimentary stuff.
If you take a look at their habits it shouldn't come as a surprise.

I'm gunna be honest i didn't watch it because the impression i got from the video was it was a guy noodling on a guitar for fifteen minutes, don't get me wrong i LOVE playing guitar-- but i like songs, most my favorite songs the guitar is a back up instrument-- but that puts me in the vast minority on this forum

still just because someone can smoke that shouldn't discourage you-- i will never play like jimmy page, clapton, or the reverend but i don't care because that's not how i play, and I'm comfortable with what I'm good at and what I'm not good at
