But man, talk about "players grade"....this is it. Ancient refinish, but it happens to be my favorite color for guitar. Repaired head stock, nice old Grover tuners.
Plus, I just love old white, with cracks, chips and crazing.
I can't afford one with an original finish, but this is almost as good.
The PUP is original, which is the heart of the beast.
Whaddya think? Am I a member of the LP Junior club???
Does it still count??

I thought that the title originally said you had bought a 59 Les Paul Standard and not a Junior but if it were a Standard, I'd have to steal that guitar from you....

Congrats! Ive been in a club and now out (maybe temporarily). Just to keep the track - was it much less than 3k?

Awesome.

Welcome to the club, but lemme warn you, once ya in, ya never get out.

I started with a 1960 junior much like yours.

Now every free penny goes to vintage Gibson electric guitars.

Blood in, blood out.

It was right around there, but I'm in Canada so that's cdn funds, and stuff is a lot harder to get here what with the ridiculous CITES thing.

Lovely! Most important, how does it sound? Any Tele-on-steroids tones?

Welcome. My 58 Junior is very possibly the best guitar I have ever owned......until I pick up my 52 Goldtop on Wednesday. Like Jeggz said once your in, your in. You cant beat a vintage guitar.

I actually had a '60 Jr and it played and sounded awesome. One of the best feeling necks ever. The problem was I bought it and it was painted sparkle red. I stripped it and re-finished it myself. After I was done, it was just too new and shiny looking. I love old finishes. I still shoulda kept the '60. Other than the paint, it was 100% original. The guy who painted it even masked off the original serial number so there was actually a square inch or so of original finish.
