I just got back from an urgent care facility for an injury i sustained two nights ago. The other night something really weird happened. I fell asleep and the next thing I knew I was awake on the bed crawling around on it, but Its like i was watching from a third eye, i didnt feel like it was really happening and i felt so confused as to what i was doing, the next thing i know I crawled off the edge of the bed hitting the floor hard, on the way down i banged the front of my face on a piece of furniture. I busted my lip pretty bad, it spit the inside of it deep. I was covered in blood and hurting like a mofo. I decided to just clean myself up and go back to bed because I was scheduled to work the next morning. Two days later my lip is finally not so swollen that i can peel my upper lip up to see the damage, to my surprise it was split BAD, i mean deep. So i go to the urgent care facility and the Dr sees me, he said it was pretty bad and had i come in the night it happened theyd have given me stitches, but since it was two days later they couldnt, but he said its starting to heal. They gave me an antibiotic and sent me on my way.

I hope to god that never happens again.

Geez, dude.
That doesn’t sound pleasant at all.

Any recent med changes that might have caused the out of body thing?

Used to sleepwalk all the time like that, never hurt.
It stopped a couple years ago.
Wake up sitting on the floor, crawling on the bed, afraid I'm falling off the face of the Earth.
Pulled a bookcase down on me at a friends house once, wake up trying to hold the wall up; if I can even remember the dream, it seems like it always just involved heights, or tremendous monolithic heights around me.
Had the top bunk when I was a kid, they had to get a guardrail.

Here is to a speedy recovery. Might want to invest in one of these...

When I was in HS, I had a desk near my bed. It had a linoleum top and sides. Somehow, my head was off the edge of the bed and I woke up (quickly raised my head) and caught the sharpish corner on the orbital (bone surrounding the eye) and opened up a gusher. I tried to hold the blood in with my hand but there was so much of it. I made it to the bathroom and packed a wet towel on it. I got the bleeding under control.

We had wood floors and there was a trail of blood down the hall. I contemplated my options: 1) wake up my parents and get a trip the ER for half a dozen stitches, 2) wake up my parents and get have my old man put half a dozen stitches in my face (he's qualified), or 3) wipe up the blood, keep the towel pressed to my face and go back to sleep.

I think you know what I chose.

I once answered the phone while sleepwalking and woke up as I hanged up.

I had to call the person back to find out what we talked about.
