Hi all,

I'm thinking of running a neck humbucker and P90 in the bridge, proberly along the lines of a Seymour Duncan 59 and a phat cat P90 in the bridge.

Does anbody here run such a setup? and would the exsiting pots be ok?

im running the opposite in my 02

phat cat in the neck and BB pro in the bridge. set up is great for rock and blues

i find the Phat cats tone to peak with a 300 vol and 500 tone with a .010 cap

the PC has a nice growl while still retaining its clarity. great for both lead and chord work for up to medium gain. anything too heavy and its gets nasley

imho the PC in the bridge will be too bright

if you have a 500k vol then just roll it back to 7 or 8 and youll be fine

I think it would work well. Some Telecaster have a single coil in the bridge and a humbucker in the neck and people say that p90's sounds like a beefed up tele pup.

I don't say that. I don't think there's much similarity at all.

I feel a P-90 is much closer to a humbucker but with less bottom and more middle. So for balance in a two-pickup situation with a humbucker, I'd put the P-90 at the neck. Otherwise you're putting the one with bottom where it's going to be exaggerated all the more.

Its an interesting idea - ideally I would make sure that the p90 is a hot wind and that the bucker has no cover on it and a good capacitor or no capacitor at all to keep up with the bite of the p90.

Experiment and let us know how it turns out.
