Oh, indeed.
I learned on eBay 20 years ago to do a clear and concise description with as much detail as possible.
No bullshit, just the facts.
Then, of course, I get questions from prospective buyers asking
precisely what I had already listed in the description.
People gonna people.
Just as
@edro wisely observes.
My response?
Without being too passive aggressive?
I would copy the pertinent section out of my description and paste it into the message that I sent back to them, beginning with a statement like, “Yeah, that is covered in the description above. Blah, blah, blah…”
But usually, these people weren’t gonna buy. I’m still going to give them a chance, but it turns out the ones who were only skimming listings are not serious about spending money.
I did the online dating thing, on and off, for a few years. Same bullshit.
Left me shaking my head; I always presumed women would pay more attention to this kind of stuff.
But man, some of them are stupid.
My dating profile would have a lot of information in it. And I would try to inject some dry humor in there.
Sharper women would catch it, and comment on it when they messaged me.
Worked like a charm.
The dumb ones?
Same as selling a guitar.
It was clear to me they didn’t read my profile when they started asking questions about stuff I specifically addressed.
One difference between selling guitars and dating chicks?
I don’t wanna have anything to do with a dumb buyer. They are not worth the trouble.
But I’m still willing to bang dumb chicks.
