How to LIVE Art

Tim T here at my chipped table. Fezz is "resting". Thank GOD! He is going to KILL Me. Hearing him chirp away in my mind all day long. Good kid,just NUTS!

ART should be a way of life. Creating and destroying. I never stopped dreaming. I have had"dry' stretches. I really turned on the ART after I graduated from HS. I was always an ART fan. I never worried whether it was "high" or 'low"ART! I cut my teeth on what many call TRASH. B+w horror movies. Pro 'rasslin. Comic books and Eerie magazines. These 'childish' art forms taught me SO much.

Horror movies taught me about pacing and mystique. NEVER give away too much at the beginning. Pace yourself.Too many bands hit the stage with no idea how to structure a "set". They show the MONSTER right away. Bad move. I intentionally start slow.I have started shows STEAMING. People take you for 'granted" if you are ALWAYS heavy . Build your monster slowly.Alittle fang here. Some tufted fur there. Create slow+ building dread.

Pro 'rassling and comicbooks taught me about persona. 'Rasslers and superheroes ALWAYS wear a costume. By doing this the become LARGER THAN LIFE! Batman needs his ominous garb. When fighting criminals you must be able to scare them. I have seen guys in bands drinking at the bar in t-shirts and then hit the stage. BORING. I prefer the "moody" guys that stand aloof,getting into the zone. R+R has a rich and varied history. Study it and learn from it.

I know many will read this and say. How bout John Fogerty? He just wears a flannel and jeans. He does and he can pull it off. His songs are so damn good he does not need any trappings. I saw Fogerty 15 years ago. He may have looked like an everyman,but he had JUICE! He created a swampy environment onstage. I felt like I was on the bayou.

I have honed my Fezz act for 20 years. I have always had a split-self. I would be confused by my actions.Why did I do that? I realized I was "manic" in my early 20's. It took me years to harness "THE DEMON". I would switch-up twenty times aday. My friends would call me and I would curse them out. I would call them back in 5 minutes. I would apologize for my "outburst". It was damn hard to control.

I now can turn IT on at will. Most times here on MLP I'm "playing" the fool. I'm not really bleeding on my keyboard. I'm playing the "heavy".I started off here almost vanilla. I learned MLP is a stage. Now I go into "the zone" quite often. It is entertaining.The last thing this place needs is another 'bore".

I'm going in the studio on Sat. Just saying that gets my heart beating. Fezz will be there in SPADES! Mrs. Fezz is going with me to hangout with Johnny Hate's wife. I will be ELECTRIC and EVIL! Andy Kaufman was a MASTER at this type of character acting. He played"Tony Clifton" to the hilt. Andy did not curse or drink or eat meat. When he was "Tony" he did this too the extreme. Iggy does the same thing. Jimmy O is a 'nice" boy. Iggy is a DEVIL.

The key is learning to LIVE your ART and not to 'break" character. I'm not that crazy. I have my "moments." I'm REALLY crazy maybe three to five days out of the month.Mrs. Fezz has to constantly tell me to behave The other 25 days I'm "channeling" the muse.

Hopefully this post can inspire you to become something"OTHER" than your "day" self. Everyone has an inner "STAR". Pay attention to yourself and your moods. Are you a different person in a crowd? Are you "crazy" when alone and than tofu in public? Learn to harness your "energy.

As I'm typing this. The Giant's casemanager arrives. She is a good-looking girl. I feel my heart beating faster. Damn,Fezz wants to come outactually forget EVERYTHING I told you STAY VANILLA! Once you unleash the"ENERGY" it is hard control. Leave the MADNESS to the professionals.

WHAT KINDA TRASH YOU WRITING! Giving away trade secrets. I'm going to drive you to WaWa and buy a HUGE coffee.I had fun yesterday. Good CRAZED writing yesterday.

Right on Tim! Channeling the demons inside can be a full-time job for some of us, but taming them and using them to ones advantage can be very beneficial.

I played a gig this past week and froze on stage. I was stiff, couldn't face the crowd, didn't feel the music until the last song.

This didn't used to be me. In my punk days, a very long 6 years ago, I came out guns blazing leaping from the kick drum, playing so furiously my strap often came off and I wound up on the floor, bleeding fingers coating my bass in red art.

I miss that. I like our current music. It's loud and fuzzy. Greasy often but I find it hard to release for some reason.

How do you find the demon again?

How do you find the demon again?

Ry you must FEED the demon. Before I was married I would go "celibate". One time I went a WHOLE year My buddy was going out with a stripper. I went with him EVERY night. Just eating sexual frustration. I LOVED IT! I was"electric' with angst. Those were the days.

I would also abuse myself with alcohol. I"forced" myself to get WAY drunk. I would then go to 7-11 and buy a Dr. Pepper,a chilli-dog and a STALE Suzie Q. I would then POUND this swill. I would go home and lay awake with heartburn. I also ate Taco Bell 3xs aday for a month. TORTURE


I was in my 20's then. I LOVED IT! I would be NUTS all day +night. I would "bait" my fellow co-workers. I would smash Twinkies in people's lockers. They would open up their lockers and their work shirts had sugar splats ALL over them

There are TONS of ways to frustrate yourself. Go on ego-trips. Look in the mirror and say over and over. "I'm the best." Do it until your throat hurts. Go out during rush-hour and get caught in traffic. Golf is also great torture.

I have NO problem calling the beast. I'm NUTS ,so it is a snap. I just "plug-in" to Fezz. I have trouble bottling the demon. Good luck Ry. I wish I could give you some of my demons. I'm trying to send you some.

Thanks SoWhat. I have FUN always. All these guitarists to mind-screw. I like to just cut loose. If babies cry I want to jam my boot in their ear. If babies are nice and "stroke" me I "stroke" them back. Sometimes I like to be a crybaby myself. I'll pm Mob or some other mod and WHINE! I like to mix it up.

Alright what did I miss? Any new Fezz? No! Then Why am I on here? Oh that's right I'm Fezz. Alright let me write something great.

"A long time ago when I was in my 20's I was going out with a HOT blonde. She was Smokin'. She would hassle me all the time.

We go outside. HE sucker-punches me. I didn't even feel it? I slap him across the face. HE GOES BAllistic. He punches me sqaure in the face. I feel NOTHING! This clown had HUGE muscles and his punches were WEAK! I slap him again. I didn't want to break my hands.

He loads up and swings at me. He misses and hits the wall behind us. HE BREAKS HIS HAND! He cries like a baby. I go into the bar and get my ex-gal.

We go outside and muscle-boy is crying. I ended up driving him to the ER with my ex sitting behind me. We get to the ER. His wrist is HUGE! I sit there while he gets a cast.

There was a FINE nurse there. I chat her up. She tells me she gets off in an hour. I talk her into going to a diner with us. Muscle-boy gets his cast. I drive Mucle and blonde to a diner while the SEXY nurse follows us. We go to the diner. WE HAVE A GREAT TIME!

We sit there,my ex,muscle-boy and SEXY nurse. We finish eating and I get Sexy nurses' number. I drive my ex and muscle back to the bar. My ex apologizes. Muscle boy shakes my hand>with his good hand. He invited me to a party. I took the Hot nurse and it was so nice. YIPPPEEE!
