Absolutely correct, master one guitar and be intimate with it and you’ll benefit greatly. Unfortunately along the way some of us during our quest for tone and immulation of our guitar hero’s get off track and start to collect instead of playing. I always seem at the end of day to return to my main guitar that works the best for me.
Immulation? not really a word, closest is immolation... I hope you don't mean that though, because burning your guitar hero to death is frowned upon, especially here. My guess is you mean 'emulation', which is far more socially acceptable. :)

51 now, started with the historics in 2005 if I remember. Mid-30's. Prior to that I was much more interested in playing guitar vs buying them.

Never felt the need to buy a “high-priced” reissue until 50 years old. Bought a 2007 R8 this year & it’s magical… kicking myself for waiting so long.

I’m 70.. I have downsized.. owned “the Babe” cc, custom shop 59 335, R9, R8, R4, some good strats and PRS.. Now, just my Goldtop R4 and my Williams 12 string Pedal steel.

The only regret was letting go of the 335…. But a friend is going to let me take custody of his 339. That will fill my humbucker jones.

I got my first Historic in 1998, it was an R7, and I was 41 at the time. Several have come and gone since then, but my last Historic purchase was in 2008. Currently I'm 64.
