Got my first one at 29. Paid £1250 for a used but near mint 2004 R7 with a lovely dark Madagascan rosewood fretboard.

The deal was obviously far too good to miss, so my girlfriend leant me some cash until I could sell my ‘92 Classic. I think it’s fair to say I was very fortunate in finding the R7, but even more so in finding my girlfriend!

I'm 56. 2010 R0 bought used earlier in the summer (from MLP classifieds!). In the last year I've gone from a 1989 Burny LP Custom to a 2020 Standard 60s to the R0. I still have the Standard 60s, but it's probably going for sale to fund a Custom Shop Junior or Special.

We're fortunate to be in good shape on retirement and college savings.

Second marriage for both so mine / hers / ours accounts. Not answerable to anyone for mine.

39 now and bought my first Historic (second guitar) at 22, just out of college. Knew then it was a good idea to start the hobbies before getting married and having kids…priorities shift at that point!

22, I flip gear locally to make a bit of extra money and between that and saving from work, was able to snag a G0. Definitely on the lower end of reissues, but it's doable at any age, just depends on priorities. No kids, rent's pretty cheap in a house with a couple buddies, and I play a lot/gig, so it wasn't unrealistic.

I was 18 years old when i got my first pre-Historic 1982 Leo's Music Gibson Les Paul reissue.

My second reissue was an 2004 R7 gold top and then a couple of 2014 R8s (one is a CC#28) and a 2012 R9.

I'm 56 now.

I'm 66. I could have an R4 if I sold my four best guitars...

I turn 50 next month. Been playing and gigging since 1985 - got my first Gibson in 1987, but didn't get my first Custom Shop Gibson - an SG - until I was in my mid-30s and didn't get my first CS LP until I was 40.

I’m interested in the ages of the owners of these instruments
I’m 58
I'm 58 as well. :yesway:
Although, I bought my first R8 in 2005, at age 42.

My first Gibson was a 71 (?) Sunburst Les Paul deluxe that I bought used in 1982, (at age 19) or thereabouts.

28 when I got my first reissue...

21 when I bought my first Custom (07, so custom shop).

Currently have a 16 r8. Will be taking a dirt nap with it before I ever sell it.
