Hey it looks like '70s strats have headstocks that snap easily also!

Wonder if the Fender Custom Shop is going to reissue this?

How much you think he spent per year just for busting Fenders?

Really amazed (and somewhat disappointed) not a single skull got cracked when he was wood chopping by the strap...

Nice work, I hate strats.
You're going to H3ll for saying that, I hope FMIC is in charge down there so You spend eternity slaving away behind a CNC machine making strat necks for ronnie to destroy!

Just play just playing.

and good god man. he's mad at that guitar.

That was a spectacle.

Did he do that at every show? Is that like Gene Simmons schtick or was that spontaneous?

Hmmm.

What's up with the big sonic 4460 PA cubes on the stage (under the reel to reel)? Did he have the Marshall stacks and his own mini PA on the stage further amplifying himself? Maybe the PA cubes were for the bass pedals.

When ever I see old Moog Taurus Pedals I think of RUSH/Geddy Lee.....

Moog stopped making them in 1981.....30 years ago!

That had to be really loud.

I really can't stand watching well known guitar players destroy their instruments. It's self indulgence to douche chills levels.

I was in Cleveland on business overnight about 10 years ago and I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was cool. I walked up a glass case filled with Gibson Guitars that Pete Townsend had smashed at various shows.

There were beautiful Les Pauls and an SG that were smashed to hell.....binding coming off and hardware smashed up. Necks broken.

It made me feel very bad. I didn't see it coming but I stared at the pieces and I felt really bad. Kinda dumb and empty.

I think it would be cooler if they would bring a fan on stage when the band takes a bow and give the fan the show guitar. Just hand it to a wide eyed kid. That would rock. That would be a huge rock and roll move in my my book.

Oh well. What do I know?

The guitar masturbation was a bit juvenile but I sure would like to know what kind of instrument cable that was.

IMO Pete T is a hack...a very rich and successful hack, but a hack...he was at the right place at the right time for his "style"

I've come to dislike him more and more over the years. Total bitterman. Recently I saw that piece where he says he never "got" Led Zeppelin and was not a fan. He seems to have something to say about a few virtuoso's over the years. Maybe it eats at him that he was never really seen in the same light as Hendrix, Clapton, Page, EVH. Wrote some good tunes but the smashing guitars thing is a low point for him IMO.

Ronnie would be the singer (Ronnie James Dio). Ritchie is the guitarist.
