Ok so I just wanted to get a feel for how many people own older guitars. I am gonna say Anything prior to 1985 will count just for the sake of having a cutoff date.

I will start
1964 Gibson Melody Maker
1967 Gibson LGO acoustic
1968 Gibson Heritage acoustic (just waiting for this one have repairs finished then be shipped out to me) Still gonna count it.
1976 Les Paul Custom
1978 Les Paul 55/78
1979 Fender Stratocaster
1981 Alvarez Yairi DY51

Ok so I own 7 How many do you own? I am wondering if the average player has alot of vintage gear. I seem to see alot of posts with cool guitars but alot of the time stuff is newer. I am sure it is out there but I never seem to see a room filled with 20 les pauls all from the 50's or 60's or something way cool like that.

Hell if you want to post pictures of your vintage gear that would be cool to. I love looking at old guitars. The checkering always seems to get me.

I also own an MSA pedal steel that was made in the mid-Seventies, and a Harmony Monterey mandolin from the Fifties. Other than that, everything else is pretty new.

None. My 3 oldest guitars, I bought new in 1990. Before I hit my peak earning years, getting a new guitar usually meant getting rid of the old guitar.

Of course the roadstar counts. Its a cool old guitar. I love the Artists, and that SG is gorgoeous. I wouldn't mind another SG. I sold the last 4 that I owned. I had 2 SG fadeds, a 61 SG reissue and a 1967 SG standard. I made money on every one I sold and used it to purchase some of the gear I have listed here. I will eventually find another SG. The specials are great guitars and you can still afford to buy one of those. Not like the ridiculous prices on most of the 60's SG standards.

These are all really great guitar for 1500 dollars or less. Gotta love the market these days.

Ok so here are a few pics.

I have a 1948 Harmony Creamona acoustic
and a 59 Harmony acoustic
I also have a 1965 Fransican acoustic, the next
oldest guitar i have is a 79 P-bass
ever-ting else is pretty new
i think the only one worth anything is the 1948 Harmony
especialy since it was once owned by a famous country star
who is my cousin.

i 'Used To" own some very old vintage electrics, but since i no longer
own them doesnt really earn a mention i guess

'69 Gibson LP
'69 Guild Starfire IV
'65 Fender Jag
'67 Fender Coronado
'65 Fender MusicMaster
'64 Fender MusicMaster
'64 Fender Jag
'65 Fender neck based parts Jag

So that is 8. 9 if you count my '75 Fender Bronco.

I just sold my '65 Mustang and '67 335... so that would have been 10 or 11
