I've had two. The black russian box and what I have now, the big muff nano.

I think this pedal belongs in the hall of fame.

What's your favorite big muff and why?

I had a really old Big Muff Pi in the big metal case, needed 2 x 9v batteries and went through them so quick. Obliterated every other pedal or effect in your rig :)

Fun but impractical. Sold it to a collector.

Now have a Nano Double Muff which is a totally different tin of biscuits.

I'm a Big Muff nut. I've acquired but never off-loaded. The Muffuletta was meant to be the last Muff I ever purchased but then EHX did their re-issue thing which I found hard to resist. Sarcophagus and Fiery Red Horse were also meant to prevent Muff urges but were also a failure: The collection consists off:

- EHX Op Amp RI
- EHX Green Russian RI
- EHX Triangle RI
- EHX Ram's Head RI
- EHX Nano Big Muff
- JHS Muffuletta.
- BAT Sarcophagus ('47 Ram's Head and Black Russian circuits).
- VFE Fiery Red Horse (Triangle circuit).

I have the versions indicated above and possibly a few more. Need to check which version of the vintage Big Muff PI Triangle 66 is in my inventory. This is the schematic of v1:

Triangle Big Muff v1

Notice how the designers use electrolytic caps for AC coupling. Unbelievable.

I have days when I question myself. Sometimes I feel like I'm over the top with too many but it's quickly eradicated when I play them and can hear the differences. Anyway, It's one of very few interests I have, really my only hobby, you only live once, why not!

If clones and 'tributes' count, then I'll also add my BuGGFX Raincoat, which is based off a Soviet Muff.

Including a clone or two around a dozen, both old and new.

To this day my favorite is the Russian Civil War.

I would almost buy a pedal called Russian Civil War just for the name.

Have owned:
- EQD Hoof
- SUF Triangle Muff (1972 v6 spec and it was spectacular)
- Eno Muff-clone
- BuggFX Raincoat
- North Effects Violet 22/7

...pretty sure I'm forgetting at least one more. The SUF and a Jam Red Muck are the best ones I've tried so far.
