I would absolutely love to be hopelessly bonded to just one historic. One that just kills GAS. I hope it happens. To me, having thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of guitars living mostly in cases is unappealing as I get older. I can only play X amount of time per day. I am not a pro whose livelihood comes from my instruments.

The key for me is get over the idea that I “deserve“ nice toys so I should have a bunch. I keep thinking lately (again as I get older) that I would rather put disposable funds toward other things.

You can never have too many guitars full stop.

I have 15 guitars at the moment:

Oops, I purchased a semi acoustic Washburn HB 32 which is not on this video.

I am a member of a G.A.S. Anonymous group so I do know I have a problem and I am happy to tell you all I have not purchased a guitar in over 2 months 4 days 6 hours and 18.45438 seconds.

It's a fair question, and it's one that is asked on a variety of guitar forums at least once or twice a year.

When you are passionate about something, you tend to want to collect as many as you can afford.
And the object of desire seems to change and evolve as we get older.

Age 5 - Marbles

Age 10 - Baseball cards

Age 15 - Porno mags

Age 20 thru 30 - Girlfriends

Age 35 thru 40 - Ex wives

Age 45 thru 65 - (pick one) Handguns, classic cars, electric guitars

Age 70 on - Television remote controls

Okay, I'm gonna shut up now.
:(

Is that a 73 Stingray? I have an 80. Nice car my friend

How
I appreciate the benefits of owning one to three guitars. You might bond with them more, get better at playing them by being more familiar, etc...

But having several is a lot of fun. I certainly have my go to guitars, but it's fun to be able to grab something different. Different guitars inspire different playing. Good guitars go up in value, so I look at them like savings bonds. Savings bonds I ca
I have this many.

I wasn’t going to stop there.... I was thinking of getting a brazzy 60th anniversary ‘60..... but I bought this instead.

I always have 10 to 12 LP and I must admit that it is very good like that !!
