How Far Do You Commute For Work?

I currently work from home. Before that I spent about 18 years driving an hour and 15 minutes each way to and from work. This is much better!

Thirty-three miles each way for me. It's not bad in the morning as the drive is fairly tame and I listen to Howard Stern but, at the end of the day, I just want to get the hell home.

I'd love to have a shorter commute but, over the past twenty years, it just never seems to work out that way and it's always around 45+ minutes each way.

Just about the same thing for me. I live out in farm country and I can say, being out where people are few is most rewarding. Its worth it to me to hear birds and crickets instead of traffic and people.

Although, I'd rather listen to Bob and Tom over Howard Stern.

I've got a 73 Super Beetle that I'd like to get fixed up so I can use it for my commute for better gas. I used to have a 8 mile / 10 minute commute until we moved last year. Now it's a 30 mile / 45 minute commute, but it's worth it to be closer to other things. We have just about anything we want or need within a mile or two.

I wish I didn't sell mine. I moved to back to New England and it sat at my Mother in laws house for a year. So I ended up selling it. I want another one bad.

30 miles 45 minutes to work straight from school

a touch over 1 mile. Barely a minute on the way in - it's before 5:30 AM. I burn less than 10 gallons of gas a week in my little Mazda truck. it's a '96 with only 100k miles. I figger it's got years left at this rate.

I drive about 60 miles each way, takes about an hour with average traffic. I usually only have to drive it once a week though, sometimes twice a week.

Then 30 miles of A roads,then country lanes
BTW 160 miles a day in the U,K,
equates to driving half way across the nation

2 miles if I take the straight shot down the major thoroughfare, but I don't usually go that way. If I drive I go another way that covers more distance but takes less time. I ride my bicycle that same way too. I have to drive a lot for work and prefer to walk, skateboard or bicycle when I can.
