Also, come Easter, (which means they go on sale on New Year's day or thereabouts in the UK) I get addicted to these. Confectionary crack!

I like 'em over 'medium' (like 'over easy', but the whites cooked well), on toast.

Indiana Farm fresh eggs with the brown shells and bright orange yolks are what I have been eating lately. One of my students moms brings me a dozen or two every couple of weeks ;)

Only the Yanks could make serving an egg so complicated.
You go into a restaurant over there and by the time the waitress has rattled off.
How do you like your eggs sir?
Fried over easy
Fried over hard
Fried sunny side up
Scrambled
SCrambled with cheese on top
Poached
Runny and dip them with toast
Hardboiled

You either have lost your appetite, or feel like smacking her in the teeth, so you say.."I'll think I'll just have some buttered toast please".......... No more questions please.

Why is it in the States that ordering a simple sandwich can be so bloody complicated. You ask for a cheese sandwich and she tells you that the cheese sandwich comes with mayo, tomatoes and lettuce. "No thanks, I'll just have plain cheese please".. That seems far too complicated a request.:laugh2:
She then looks at you as if you are insane and repeats.. "But the cheese sandwich comes with mayo, tomatoes and lettuce"..

I always thought that the scene in 'five easy pieces' was pure fantasy.. That was untill I experienced it for myself on several occasions.

Anyway, back on topic.. I like hard boiled egg sandwiches with sliced tomatoes.. Jesus! I never dared ask for that over there. Fuck knows what I would have got.
Mind you I did ask for a four minute boiled egg for breakfast once.. The waitress brought the egg still in it's entire shell to me on a plate..
I asked her if she had an egg cup. She didn't even know what an egg cup was and had to go and ask the manager, who I must say looked a little perplexed too. The long and short of it was that..No they didn't have one..
Fucking great..I'm sitting there with a boiling hot egg in one hand and a spoon in the other.
