I have some of the CTS tvt true vintage taper pots but they are too stiff turning. I hosed them out with deoxit and they are still too stiff.

How do the tapers compare between the Dimarzio Pro Parts custom taper pots (the ones with the brass sleeves) and the CTS 550k pots?

I would like something easy to turn with the side of my hand, and not work like an on/off switch which many audio taper pots do from about 8.5 to 10.

Also I love linear taper pots for the tone controls, but like audio or custom taper for volume controls, I like the swell near the end of the sweep but would like a slower swell that comes on earlier than 8.5 or so.

What make or brand of pot is between the linear taper and the on/off typical audio taper pot?

I can't compare the taper yet, or dimarzio to tvt pots but I can give a few first impressions of the dimarzios that I bought to put into my trad. They are well built with the entire top half being made of brass. However I was a bit disappointed by the ease in turning the heads. I prefer a bit of resistance myself. That's not to say that I doubt they'll stay where you dial them in, but they seem to respond to a much lighter touch than I'm used to. I'm sure I'll get used to that tho. Once I've installed them and have some time I'll try to give better thoughts...I can only compare them to higher end Alphas, Bourns, regular cts and stock Gibsons.
