Yes, arc welding can seriously harm the eyes of bystanders who don’ know enough about it to look away. But even more ironic is the fact that welders are in high demand for well-paying jobs. So why the hell is he homeless!

Where we live, we have a severe labor shortage. Big problem. Another big problem is what to do with our homeless population. You’d think that with help wanted signs on 90% of our commercial buildings, the homeless problem would take care of itself.

Being a former welder in my younger days. I can assure everyone that flash burned corneas is a pain that can't be described in words.
I’ve had it a couple times myself. The hell of it is you don’t know it’s happening until too late. It’s not like a burn where it’s immediate. I got it off some sheet metal once of all things. I stabbed the Tinner in the neck with a sharpened stick of E7018. He died.

doesn't mean he's good at it or knows what he's doing.

Plus could have serious mental issues and/or drug and alcohol addiction.

Could just be a crazy dude playing with a torch.

Hey, leave him alone. I use him for chassis work now and then. It's great as we can just strap him under the car with a torch and a cigarette lighter adapter and he'll do the welding while the car is moving. Saves a lot of time!
