So I've recently became infatuated with hollow body guitars, and have started designing my own.
I've done some searches trying to find build threads for hollow bodies, but I haven't found much. So would you guys post your hollow body build thread links here so I can see how you guys go about building these style guitars?

Thanks in advance,
Tom

HI Tom,

My first build was a hollowbody, kind of thinline type but essentially a small bodied acoustic... I took an entirely different approach mainly due to materials I was used to working with, but you can see the detail over on LuthierTalk :naughty:

... and now for something 'completely' different! - LuthierTalk.com

Hope it gives some inspiration or enjoyment!

Cheers,

David

Oh, and I had thought aluminum would be cool, but not for what I want in this build

Back in 2002 I built my first acoustic guitar, a full size 18" acoustic archtop (super 400 class) which has been a wonderful guitar for 12 years now.

I have not yet completed its brother that was started shortly thereafter. I really need to get back to that one. This year, I have promised myself.

i know its a no no to talk about this other forum but thats the only decent post i found on there.

its a shame ted mc carty isnt around anymore he designed so many great guitars, like the 335, flying v, the explorer, the modern, and we cant forget the mighty LES PAUL, he was a genious and had his name on so many patents
