:wow:
That's a beauty, Vinnie! Thanks! :run:

Says its;

'a 1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This limited edition Standard was one of only 300 produced with a gloss Candy Apple Red nitro lacquer finish '

Welll.... maybe.. :laugh2:

Well, No, actually!

See this! This is what happens when you hang around in here too much! You don't take online dealers at their word so much anymore.

You start to think they are not the plethora of knowledge you once thought they were. :laugh2:

300 produced is a common misconception. I have a pic of #398.
I'm going with 400 till I see one numbered higher. Haven't yet.

'Other features of the headstock include the original Standard truss rod cover and original gold Schaller-made Gibson-branded flip-out "Speed Winder" tuners which have immaculate plating. '

Except Flip out tuners were not a feature on the Standards of that year.

What makes you so doggone sure you say....

First, mine did not come with them, I had to buy them.
Second I remember clearly talking about them to the dealer in Olympia Wa back in 83 when I first saw it.

There was a lovely white sparkle Custom with gold hardware and black plastics there on the floor at the time, and that's where I first saw these.

I asked about getting them on the CAR Standard, were they available.

He checked and said no, looks like a custom thing only, but I could order a set and put them on myself...

Also doesn't have the no-hole bridge that was famous in 82.

To qualify, that's not a deal breaker since Gibson was not consistent in putting these on every single one.

For sale on CME for example...

It is a lovely specimen though...and that price is on the high side..

I'd try to get him down to around 3K all said and done.

Mid to upper 2's would be ideal, but these are going up....

There's my nickle's worth of free advice for ya!

Carry on!:laugh2:

Darrell, I consider you the final authority on this model. Considered buying one at one point then got the P90 bug.

It is a fine looker though.

It is a fine looking piece!

I can obviously recommend them for the Shaw pickups and quality of fit and finish. And the rarity of sorts only 400 made.
