Good thing I don't plan on buying one. I love looking at the reissues because they're works of art but am perfectly happy with my 2016 ebony Custom. For those of you who can command crazy money for the ones you already own, JACKPOT!!!!!!!!

Just spoke with someone with a good contact inside Gibson and he knew nothing of any news like this. They are actively taking custom one-off and "Made to Measure" orders. They are in fact sitting on somewhere in the 500-1000 2017 reissue LP's with no release date yet. And as mentioned in other threads, they could wait until later in the year and as late as fall. They DO know that the market is saturated and maybe that's reason enough for the delay.

I keep seeing a 2016 aged True Historic on Sam Ash(pops up in my ads). A few weeks ago, they had it down to like $6350, but now, it's back up to $8100.

Looks like dealers have sent the prices back up as it becomes more clear there aren't ant Rs coming for a while.

I understand they have some of them made, but I'm saying making any more standard production R's. Take made 2 measure out of it. I'll still stand by what I said based on where it came from and consistent among 3 people. Store owners and a former very popular gibson employee.

The number they have made is what they should sell every year, if not less. They should just wait a few years and them bring them back once the oversaturation is gone, or better at least.

If they don't bring 'em out in 2017, they'll have to paint stingers on the back and re-do all the serial numbers to 2018.! lol!

They rebadged Kriegers as 'aged '54s' and the Goldfinger as aged GTs w/stingers! :D

I agree with much of what you're saying. But you made a blanket statement claiming the Custom Shop is done. And that is not true.

I apologize if that's how it came off. That is not what was meant. Hopefully I clarified more in the 2nd post.
