Hey! Thanks for that Jim! I'll have a look at them. How much did yours cost? I know its customised to your needs but a indicative price would give me some kind of cost.

great speaker cabinets for guitar

From what I've read birch seems to be the god of cabinets and Celestion V30's for speakers. This is my last guitar set up as the X3 gives me all the tones I could wish for. A decent cab is worth the money.

So everyone, Im all ears even if its just your pennys worth with regards to the speakers you prefer or cabinet material ,ply, solid etc.. and what style of guitar you play through em.

Matamp make great cabs Dave, might be worth looking around for a used one seeing as your in the UK, they're based in Meltham. Or you could take a trip to the factory and try the infamous 'wall of cabs' and let your ears decide- its great fun!

I spent yesterday afternoon playing at serious volume with a pounding drummer and he actually commented that my Matamp rig (1224mkII head and 2x12 cab loaded with V30's) sounded better than anything he can remember hearing in a live context- he actually had to play harder for a change to keep up! Anyway, they make good stuff and are priced pretty reasonably, check them out if you get a chance.
