Hey Folks, I have an SJ-200 and while I love it, it does have a tendency to rattle a bit - only the 6th string. It's not a fret issue. The guitar plays perfectly across the entire neck. It seems to be rattling a little at the bridge. Like a kind of clatter when hit with anything other than a soft touch. I tend to pick heavy and as an acoustic, I really want be able to strum hard for volume. The 6th string on mine doesn't really like this. Any thoughts as to where this issue is? Is the nut the problem or a weird connection with the bridge? Confused. Any thoughts most welcome and thank you for reading!

forgot to mention that this rattle is only present when the string is hit OPEN. It goes away immediately when the string is fretted.

I'm obviously just speculating here but....
If the buzz goes away when you fret the string, that tells me the buzz is at the headstock.

I had a strat that did that and I finally chased it down to a loose tuning machine nut of the face of the headstock.

Don't know if the JC200 even had those, but it's all Ive got.

Nut slot could be too low on that string. String tension could be too low. The second fret could be too high. The tuner bushing or tuner could be loose. Neck relief could be too low.

I would start with the nut slot. Put a scrap of paper under the string and see if that solves the problem. If it does, go for the superglue & bone dust trick.

Just checking in.
Did you figure out where the buzz was coming from?

this week has been a return to work after some travel and just a blur of responsibilities... I will have some time this weekend to try and sleuth it out. I'll report my success or failings (!) and remain grateful for the interest and kind advice given here, always.
