Hi All!

Please help me on this one.... I was offered a 2009 R9, supposedly 50th anniversary. A have a few questions:

1. Are all 2009 R9's "50th anniversary" models?

2. The COA looks "regular" on the front, but with a 50th anniversary logo on the back. Is this really a 50th anniversary model? I have googled a few with a gold COA, other with "LIMITED EDITION 50TH ANNIVERSARY" on the front.

Thanks in advance for any help!

That's a good question! I seem to remember the early ones came with a gold COA that made them the acutal anniversary models. Later ones did not come with the special COA and were not considered the actual anniversary models even if there was a sticker or something on the regular COA. So, to answer your question, no, not all 2009's are anniversary models. Spec-wise, they are the same guitars. Lots of cool colors came out lthat year. Gold COA ones probabably worth another $50 :)

If I were on the hunt for a R9 it would be a 60th Anv. model. TToo many upgrades between '09 and '19. Lots of 60ths out there now. Most for less than the Gold 50th.

The first 500 R9 50ths had a gold COA and then the rest had a normal black one. All the guitars had the same specs but only those first 500 were designated the anniversary guitars. With the 2010 R0s, they did 200 gold COAs for each of the neck types (V1/V2/V3) and then the rest of the 2010s were not part of the "50th Anniversary" run and just had regular black COAs.
