Help me identify this "Custom" Model

hi!

recently bought this nice les paul "custom". it sounds absolutly awesome. but i wonder when and from which factory/company it is made? any help is welcome! its really hard to find something on google about a les paul, that is just called "custom" ^^. the info i got, is that is made in japan and the serial is "017023". the previous owner told me it was made in or before 1972, because of the potiknobs??? i am not sure about that. anyway, here are the pics:

The tuners, and pcb look very matsumoku. Should have a bolt in the neck cavity.

what is that neck construction called? "screwglue"-neck? ^^

another question: has this guitar a "long tenon" neck?

Long tenon. The screws are in stead of a clamp while the glue is setting.

yeah looks like ebony. the pickups are awesome, they have little less output than my other les pauls but i like it, you can get some great jimi page-ish crunch sounds out of them, they sound more like a P90. very very nice...

Interesting, maybe they are humbucker sized single coils or just really low output HBs.
