Hi everyone, they proposed these pickups from 1989. They say they were on a custom order Les Paul from 1989. The curious thing for me are the slotted brass screws at the base. They come out at 7.85k neck and 8.06k bridge. Could they be the prototypes of the '57 classics in your opinion? Or what else?

Not like any pickup i swapped out of a Les Paul (4) from the late 80's period.

I have seen Bill Lawrence(most common), 490 series( a '90 standard), and a set which has the patent number stamped in the baseplate( from an '87 standard, could be shaws...no matter ,sound pretty good clearly in the paf ballpark).

The op's pup have the Gibson USA stamp on the plate, which i just noticed after maging up.

my guess is a 490 series pup. The tone and drive would give away the answer. the 490 sound is instantly identifiable, darker, more powerful than a paf type pup..
