Help me decide on how my LP should look

I wanted different knobs on my Cherry sunburst LP for practical reasons, and bought black Gibson top hats. Then I got to thinking that I might want a bit more black on the guitar. To help me decide, I Photoshopped one picture with a black pickguard and one with black plastic surrounding the pickups. I've narrowed it down to these two.

Tell me which one you prefer, please. (I hope I figured out how to add a picture to my post - if not, chalk me up as an idiot, and tell me how, please)

Thanks.

Also, by the way, my volume and tone pots turn harder than they ever did on my 335s. Anyone know why this is and/or how to fix it?

I don't really think that either looks that good, I'm more of a one color plastic type of fella.

It all boils down to what you like really, it's a decision you should make on your own IMO.

Go with whatever YOU like the most and you'll be happier in the end.

Between those two I'd go with the one on the right.

Neither. If your gonna use a pickguard match the pickguard color and pickup ring color. The color combo idea you have offsets the look of the LP and makes it look tacky IMO. I'd go with creme rings and no pickguard myself.

I agree, match the pickguard with the rings, otherwise it looks bad.

I'd personally go with creme pg and rings and gold tophats and keep the black far far away.

Not sure if this will help, but I sort of had the same look going on on my guitar at one point. I found it looked strange, though, but it's sure as hell unique!

It doesn't look too bad with the creme pick guard and is kind of different. I don't like the black pick guard though.

Black plastic on sunburst LP's makes it look a little cheap, I think. Kind of Japanese... But then again, who am I? Go with your own taste!
