Hello Everyone,
I am planning to tip my toes again in buying me another old guitar. I saw this in the classifieds. can anyone help me identify which year and also the specs. Thanks. Pics attached

I am actually looking for a 1984 model year MIJ (Tokai; Greco, etc ) with Solid maple top. If anyone has one hit me up. I am in Europe so European based guitars are welcome.

Cheers

The Performer series were only in the 1978, 1980 and 1981 catalogs as far as I can see.

Being a set neck, it looks like this is a PF300 or PF400 (1978) or PF350 (1980/81). The 1978 models were available in 'Antique Violin' like the one you've pictured, but have a tri-sound switch. The later PF350 doesn't have a tri-sound switch but only come in 'Cherry Wine' finish.

The serial number doesn't follow protocol; usually the letter at the start is A-L, indicating the month it was made, the first two numbers following indicating year, ie C77xxxx = March 1977.

Anyway, some catalog pics:

You know, every time I see one of your posts I click on the YT link and listen to both Ocean Deep songs you have on there....any chance you have an album I could buy?

Sorry for the sidetrack-

Wow thanks, I really appreciate that. It's coming up to 9 years since we recorded those. We wrote around 70 songs between us but only got to record two before things fell apart (we ran out of money and energy, still friends though).

Hopefully I'll get into a studio some time this year and do some songs with me singing. I'd planned to record three songs a year, then take stock and release a remixed album for my 66th birthday; currently I'm about two years behind, ie meant to start when I turned 60 but just turned 62 a couple of months ago and have no recordings done yet. Got some killer material in waiting though!

Thanks Larry, sorry OP for the digression!
