I'm hoping that some of you guys can help me with some advice for pulling together the remaining parts I need for the restoration of my '61 SG/LP. In case you hadn't seen this project, here are a couple of threads that SG Lou posted showing the great work he did on rebuilding this guitar:

I've already pulled together most of the parts that I need for the guitar, with the major exception being the truss rod cover and the knobs. Not being all that familiar with vintage SGs, I'm looking for some guidance on how to identify, and where to find/buy either very good, vintage correct repro parts or vintage parts for a '61. If you can provide me with links to websites or specific auctions with what I'd need, it would be appreciated. Meanwhile, I have questions about these parts:

TRC: Are the truss rod covers for a '61 SG Standard supposed to have the "Les Paul" script on them? Or did some have just plain ones? And were there any changes in these during the '60s that I should watch out for (to make sure I'm getting a period correct one)?

Knobs: Should these black knobs have the silver insert or gold (I'm assuming silver)? And are the knobs for the '61 any different from those in subsequent years?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Yes, Frank, my '61 has the "Les Paul" script on the TRC. I've got a spare pickguard, if you find you need one.
