Help decide!! please...

Hi guys!

I am after a "new" guitar.
My current guitars are too nice and lovely to be taken to the kind of gigs I play...
I need a quality, cheap and good looking guitar, preferably a Gibson

I got some good offers locally, that are:

-black 2004 Flying V
-cherry 2008 Flying V
-white 2011 Explorer
-honey 1992 Les Paul Lite

The Lite and the Explorer have ebony fretboards (and I like it) and the V's have rosewood (not bad either). Also, they are a little bit more expensive, but not too much.

What are your thougts?
I will come to a matter of feeling and good communication with the sellers. That will make it happen or not.
I have LP's and V's and I love both: for the sound, the playabilty and the looks.

What would you choose?




Btw, none of them have the original pickups. A pair of them are sold without pickups (better for me, as I have tons of them at home...).

I've always heard that early '90's Gibsons are the shvt, so i'd lean towards the lite.

If you have LP's and V's then get the Explorer for some variety.

Its a coin toss between the Explorer and the LP Lite

That's why I said just get the cheapest. He already owns nice guitars that he won't use.

Look for some SG's. Brand new they're the best value since you get more guitar for the buck than any other model, IMHO, and they are even more of a steal when buying used.

It just happens that they are closely priced, so it doesn't matter.

The ebony boarded ones are just a bit more.

You see no point, but my paranoia and the nasty places where I am allowed to play makes me uncomfortable to take my beloved babies.

For me, there are "A" shows and "B" shows.

Just because you ask, my current guitars are:
-71' LP Custom (with PAFs)
-75' LP Standard (with PAFs)
-82' The V (with Dirty Fingers)
-95' Strat Plus (with Gibson humbuckers)
-95' Custom Shop LP Classic (with PAFs)

I've taken the Plus and The V live several times, but I feel uncomfortable because you can never keep an eye in all your rig at the same time: amp, cabs, cables, wha, guitar, car, mic, stand, bag, wallet...

I also got another amp for "B" shows

If I were you I'd find a battered norlin with an indestructible maple neck and volute.

Or buy the les Paul lite.
