Hi everybody:

I recently became a Gibson owner again; just bought an ES 135. I had a Les Paul Studio in the early 90s, one of the guitars I miss the most. Also had two SGs, and EB3, and an Epiphone Newport bass.

I'm looking forward to learning lots on what looks to be a very friendly, informative forum.

Welcome!! My grandfather was born and raised in Trieste, or as you guys say it... Trst. He was 1/2 Austrian, 1/2 Slovene. He lived there when it was "owned" by Austria-Hungary.

He hated the electric guitar and everything it stood for. He liked opera. If he were alive, he'd tell you in Slovene... turn that damn music off and then he would crank some Italian opera.

so... where do you live in Slovenia?

Thanks! I was born in Stirling, Scotland. I've been living in Maribor for about 12 years. It's a small town, but it has a pretty lively music scene. I live right across the street from the National Theater (I can hear a soprano practicing at this very minute), and there's a jazz club called Satchmo's just around the corner. I teach in the English department at the university, which also has a music department that puts on regular student concerts.
