Saw this on the Line 6 forum. This is not something that I would use because I don't really record, and don't need the other functionality, but it is a great feature for many Helix users.

Also available for purchase for non-Helix owners as well.

From the L6 site...

HELIX NATIVE FAQ

Wait… Is this Helix in a plugin?
Yes. Helix Native features all the amp, cab, and effects models of Helix and Helix Rack, as well as IR loading. Its presets are fully compatible with Helix and Helix Rack hardware so you can effortlessly transfer your tones from the studio to the stage and back again.

What plug-in formats are supported?
Mac and Windows, 64-bit VST3/VST2, AU, and AAX.

Will it work with iLok?
Helix Native is authorized through Line 6 License Manager which can be downloaded from www.line6.com/software. There is no licensing available through iLok.

How many computers can I install Helix Native on with a single license?
Licensing is tied to your Line 6 account and up to four computers can share a single license.

Is there a demo version to try out?
A free trial will be made available and is fully functional for 15 days.

How many parameters can be automated?
Parameters and/or block bypass states can be automated by assigning them to automation channels in your DAW (up to 16 per instance).

I don’t get it. Why would you offer all that Helix goodness in a plug-in?
Because it’s the right thing to do. Helix is all about elegant solutions to musicians’ problems, and the studio-to-stage-and-back promise was too big of a deal not to pursue. Have you ever tried to nail every guitar tone on your record for an upcoming tour? With Helix Native, potentially weeks of work could be condensed down to a minute or two.

What does Helix Native cost?
Helix Native sells for $399 USD. However, to hammer home the whole studio-to-stage thing, we’re offering a discount to registered Helix and Helix Rack owners; they can purchase Helix Native for $99. Existing POD Farm customers are eligible for certain discounts as well (TBD).

When and where?
Helix Native will be available on the Line 6 store (https://store.line6.com) in Spring of 2017

Yeah, makes sense. Being a long time Pod user, I always loved that I had the Pod Farm plug in to use in my daw and could control all the functionality straight in my DAW. Alot of people have been asking for Fractal to do a DAW plug in version of the Axe FX as well. Unfortunately I just don't see it happening. Kudos to Line6 for keeping up with tradition!

This will give Fractal a good reference as to how fast it gets Cracked upon release.

Yeah in the past they had two versions. Ampfarm and Podfarm. Amp farm was a full featured stand alone plug in. Podfarm required that you own a Pod and it be connected via USB for it to work.

It was great because I could hook my pod up and then use the plug in and have the ability to edit guitar tones after it was recorded without having to reamp. made the process extremely easy... This is why I am WAITING for Fractal to do this. would be even better if it used the DSP from the unit as to not burden the computer with it. Multiple tracks of amps sims can really bog down your system.

It's $399 if you currently do not own a Helix.

Too pricey for Software IMO. I'd consider it at $199. I wonder if it will get the same updates Helix will get to keep them in sync?

Yes, Line 6 has confimed that the firmware features (Amps, Cabs, FX, etc.) of the Helix Hardware (Floor and Rack) will be the same as and evolve on the same path as the Helix Native software.

Firmware 2.20 has been announced to be released in February.

Helix Native is expected in April.

For those who do not find the Helix hardware's dedicated features, interface, signal routing, I/O's, controls, display, and convenience to be of use or service to them, the Helix Native software will save them $1,100.

Having just seen the current development build of Helix Native software in operation at NAMM, it is truly awesome and brings an incredible realm of additional functionality to the Line 6 Helix line! For the majority of existing Helix owners, the $99 Helix Native offer will make a great deal of sense.
