Has Anyone Else Here Never Played a Gibson Les Paul?

Had something of a shocking realization today on my walk. In almost fifteen years of playing, and of idolizing many Les Paul players, I've never played a Gibson. I've played my share of Epiphones and I own a very nice MIJ and I've played a couple Gibby SGs, but I've never had the opportunity to sit down with a real Gibson Les Paul.

Despite this fact, I've been a member of this forum for seven years. So I wonder if there are any others like me here, or if I'm the only Gibson virgin on the board.

The only Gibson I've ever owned was a Midtown Custom
I've owned some nice Epi Les Pauls
Sure I did play some Gibson Les Pauls but did not buy them for multiple reasons

I am happy with what I have now

I hope that those people here who haven't owned a Gibson Les Paul or whatever dream guitar you wish to own, I hope one day you do. Music is important and you shouldn't overlook or underestimate it's value. To me, music is a light in the darkness and it has guided me through some really dark places.

I had never touched one until just a couple of years ago. Been through a few since. Haven't found the holy grail for me personally yet. I like them more than they like me. I love em and respect em, but they're just not my thing. I started out a 335 guy. Been all the way around the block the last couple of years. It looks like I'll end as a 335 guy.

Nope, never played one, never played a (proper) Fender either.

Handled a couple, but being a lefty, they're few and far between.

I have an Epi LP, a Squire Tele & a Freshman acoustic. For my level of playing, quite adequate.

I own one, play it 99% of the time, but the reality is that my Epi 339 plays pretty great too. I'm glad I own a Gibson LP, but I am not sure I'd own two.

I consider it a luxury item. There are times I do think seriously about buying a second one, but then I think I can use that money more wisely elsewhere, so the guitar has to wait.

They're nice. But at 4 times the price of an Epi are they 4 times as nice? I don't think so.

Go play one. If only just to have done it. I currently own two (+ a jr.) and love them to bits.

I have one of each (Epi, and Gibson), and from '02-'07, my Epi LP Standard was my #1 (next to my Strat, which has long since been sold). Once I got my Classic, the Epi took the back burner. Never looked back.

I've held one, but never played one. It was before I started playing. I have a Epi 60s T+.
