I own a Hamer Standard in Korina with a one pc quilted flame top, I also have a late 80's Chapparal with a sustainer. It's a shame, but Fender shut Hamer's doors. FMIC was $100 million in the hole & they went out & mortgaged everything to buy Kaman for $117 million. This ruined FMIC's IPO. So they closed one of the best Guitar manufacturers in the world. Let's hope Hamer finds a buyer & stays in business.
yeah it's a shame they went out of business.. not long ago I picked up a used Sunburst XT for cheap.. for some reason I find myself always going back to it.. for an overseas made bolt-on, to me it has the most comfortable neck ever..
if the imports are this good, I can only imagine what a USA model is like.. I hope to get a USA model sometime this year..

it's a shame Hamer had to be shut down, meanwhile that clown HJ seems hell bent on making the Gibson "brand" into a laughingstock.
The imports don't come close the the USA models, but they're pretty decent guitars at their price point. The USA ones are that good.
On another note, I got the advance copy of my book Friday...!

Cool book - available at finer book stores everywhere?![]()
I've played a couple. They are really nice guitars. I couldn't get over the blah headstock but they have some really nice tops.
I would like to have one of their flying V's - I've found them to be MUCH better than gibby's
I still have a Kaman GTX strat in dual sunburst finish that I bought back in the late 80s. From what I understand, Kaman eventually became Hamer guitars.
