Hagstrom Question?????

I've been thinking of getting a new guitar for Christmas and the one on my mind has been the Hagstrom Deluxe F. It's just the price I want to spend and it looks like the kind of guitar that I want. My question is simple... does anyone have any experience with it??? Just wondering in advance.

I have a Hagstrom Viking Deluxe, the E335 style hollow body Hagstrom. Chinese made, the company has be revived as they went out of business in the 80's once the market killed off a lot on non Asian manufacturers.

Best thing about them is the patented H profile truss rod, allegedly it makes the neck very strong and straight enabling it to be the thinnest and fasted mofo in town. I have an Epi Dot, Epi LP, Gibson LP (60's neck), Mex Strat and the claims are true, the neck is noticably thinner. Faster, hmm maybe...

The finish in mine is all gold (as opposed to gold top), there are a few blips and bumps, and the buttings up to the bindings are a bit dodgy in places, but overall not too bad.

It plays well, as low as you go action when strung with 10's, standard vol/vol/tone/tone layout with a 3 way switch. As with most guitars in this range it could do with a pup n pot upgrade.

Overall, it's a fast neck, worth it for that as it will be different from anything else you play. If you have the funds upgrade the hardwear, but as with everything check out the sound and the playability.

Hey I have a Hagstrom viking deluxe also, and It honestly is my best sounding guitar (the Viking, a modded epi les paul, and a modded strat) They really are fantastic guitars. The necks are very fast and the stock tuners and pickups are the best I've ever had.

I read a review in sound on sound once and, it did not make me feel like rushing out to buy one...but, please do not read to far into this. I can not remember why I had that responce. It could be BS like they come with only x. When I get a chance I will play one.

I've been checking out some reviews on it and so far I feel that it seems like a good buy. I plan on getting it tomorrow.
