This is a 1974 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. It came with this truss rod cover(pic below) that had no white trim around the edges of it like a normal gibson truss rod cover would have. So I bought a new blank truss rod cover to put on my LP but the problem is the black doesn't match. I don't know if you can tell from the pics i took but the old black from the headstock is more "aged" and the truss rod cover is shiny and new looking and doesn't match. is there any way I can age the cover so the black matches and the white gets that "creamy" aged look to it like my lp's pickgaurd? And does anybody know what kind of truss rod cover the all black one is? I've only seen that truss rod cover on one other Gibson Les Paul;a 1959 Les Paul Junior. Did those come on Gibson's or is that swapped out parts?
