Bruce, I sent you a gift my friend.:fingersx:

Just remember that a cop, gave you money to help in this time of need. Like I said man, we're not all bad. I do what I do to keep my family and friends safe... If I don't who in the hell will? By the way I've already decided that although I would really love this custom guitar from Bennett. If I win it, it will be posted in the member's classifieds section here at MLP and sold. With part of the proceeds going to Bruce Bennett and his family. Why? Because that's what friends do.

Here you go, man! Good Luck. I'm viewing this as payment for your past and future contributions to this forum.

Keep an eye out for me, I need all the help I can get! ;-)

Cheers Peter.

I have several friends that are in law enforcment, I know they have a tough job with a fair amount of danger attached to it.

Its not the police I have any kind of issue with.. its the stupidity of the system.
One would think that when dealing with something as precious as a mans freedom, that certain things would be taken into account and that there would be a standard to be adhered to..

IMHO, that was not the case here.
I was arrested at 7 PM EST on my way home from work,
I also have reactive hypo-glycemia (low blood sugar) and extremely high blood pressure( 214/141) that requires daily meds to keep in check, and if i don't eat on my strick schedule, I can go into a coma and possibly die, and at the very least be very sick for a couple of days. which I was after getting out of jail at 6 Am the next morning.
I was not asked nor allow to offer any medical information during my "processing"
I was thrown into a cell with 10 other guys and that cell was not big enough for 6 let alone 10... 2 of which were on trail for murder. for a traffic stop!?
I was told at the time of my arrest, that I would be processed and released "O.R." yet, at the jail, I was told that I had to "bond out"
later to find out that I never needed a bond at all, so money wasted..

I was given a court date in Walker County Court AND placed on the dockett of Rossville City Court without being notified in any way, and all on the SAME ticket #s, so, in effect, I was being tried for the same crime twice!

I was told repeatedly that I was a liar by both Walker County and Rossville City, simply because they didn't believe me, and refused to do so, until I forced a "conferance call" phone conversation between the two.

and even after they both apoligized and told me that they would straighten this out and not to worry ,
I STILL got a call from the Bail Bondsman in Walker county claiming that I had failed to appear in Walker county court on the 26th ..days after i had appeared and settled the case in Rossville city court.

Its plainly obvious to me that whatever "system" they have in place.. doesnt' work.

nothing should be this problematic when talking about something this serious.

you know, I dropped my Paypal account some time ago for what they did about the Assange donations...

I couldn't think of a better reason to re-open it than this!
All the best to you and your wife!

i googled the baby grand bridge to see what finishes it looked good against, and look what came up:

jbd-400-by-j-backlund-designs_gajfu_65.jpg

:thumb: that is a [email protected]$$ guitar right there... showed it to my dad and he goes, 'that is a not guitar. that is a space ship.' :D

i think a solid bright color could look really good. maybe a fenderish yellow or red? with a tortoise shell pick guard? :hmm: i guess it depends if the body wood seems to nice to cover up. a solid but classy color i think would go well with the classic design but futuristic bridge and headstock inlay!

inlay looks perfect btw! :)

I really appreciate all the help guys, Thank you so much.

2 tiny issues that arose today. silly, but potentially problematic.

first, if any more people would like to help out through paypal. thats great, but Please don't use the word "donation" anywhere in your Paypal transaction. mark this as a "gift"

I got a call from Paypal today asking me for my "Non-Profit paperwork" or a 503C fileing for my state.

these are "gifts" and should probably be listed that way with paypal as i will have to file taxes on them. and you can still take any tax deductions on a gift.

also. please do not use the word "Raffle" or "Guitar giveaway" in any posts, here.. paypal or otherwise. that can involve the gaming commision and thats a really BIG issue.

I'm giveing the guitar away with no purchase, gift, or payment required.

Paypal was a little too interested in why a long overdrawn account was suddenly receiveing money from so many different places around the world. and I don't think they really cared too much for my explaination. :D

it seems Big Brother IS watching.

I think thats normal with PP, Bruce - A friend told of a similar situation he had, and I know of anothers account being questioned over the same surge in small payments.

IIRC they suspect/view it as a way of money laundering.

After reading this I've sent a donation myself.
I don't post a lot but I have received a fair bit of help from this forum when I was building my own guitar and it's nice to give a little back.

Besides, I'm hoping to win a guitar :D

Good luck with it Bruce.

In fact, gentlemen, Bruce've risen a good point. then lesser info the one provides over the net, the less interest this info rises later. A receiving party, a minimal filling of chechboxes and OUR TOTAL EVERGOING DEEVOTION FOR... choose your own. =}

I am compelled to offer only one comment. To a judge, an FTA is the equivalent of giving the court the finger-when dealt with properly by the defendant a one-timer is handled as "just one of those mistakes." Multiples don't fix so well.

PS- as a judge I dedicated hundreds and hundreds of hours hellping people sort out multiple jurisdiction screw-ups-I sympathize on the FTA on a ticket you were never really given, assuming those from that town were not given to you at that stop or first court appearance. You would be stunned at how often I "ignored" another "slip-up" during a 6 month period of helping a person get reinstated.

PPS- My court routinely offered payment plans. Fines have gotten so outrageously high these days that most regular folks needed one.
NOTICE

People often get confused-on a routine traffic citation/ticket, when you sign, you do not give up rights.* In fact, the jurisdiction gives up taking you into custody based on your certified, affirmed or sworn promise to appear on the date at the place and time specified, as represented by your signature. Refusing to sign gets you the ride in the B & W Vicky, Impala or Charger and the usually mandatory bracelets.

*I have not read the Code in every state or Canada but before you stand on a refusal to sign, read the paragraph above the signature line.
.

Making sure this thread provides a public service, that's all.

I would imagine that you could print everyones name alphabetically and if they don't see their name.. etc etc..
saying 150 names on a you tube video would take a while.

also someone might not recognize the way i might say their name

And it appears that there are some Federal laws concerning Raffles and Lotteries.
this might not work .
EDIT: I just found this.
"There are some states where raffles are not legal, even for nonprofits. Those states are Alabama, Hawaii, Kansas, South Carolina and Utah."

and there is an issue with holding a raffle that crosses state lines and certainly international borders.
after reading more about this idea, its become clear that Roman is closer to the truth than any of us know..

We DO live in a Police state, where anything that can put money in the hands of regular people quickly or easily is illegal.
they want everyone to slave hard for every buck they earn and then they want to tax us to death on those same dollars.

the only way to save money.. is to work very hard, earn as much as you can, spend nothing for anything, own nothing they can tax,
and buy nothing they can tax. grow your own food or starve yourself.. Yep, this is the America I signed up for.

those are the ONLY LEGAL ways.... we all know the illegal ways.

You don't live in a police state, you live in a scammer state. The reason why there are regulations on these type of things is because inevitably someone will take advantage of it to scam and mislead people.
