I got the email and quickly opened it, thinking they were making something in the 8k range . . . . nope. C'mon guys; 20k is hardly a different market segment than 50k. Make something for us regular Joe doctors and lawyers.
for 8k which is an excellent facsimile of greeny. I'd buy that personally not that I will ever drop that kind of money on a guitar again. not sure why this hasn't sold to be fair,
More power to them if there is a market and they can sell these kinds of guitars..BUT...it's just a fucking guitar and with no iconic history. Hard pass...I will spend my 20k on hookers and blow!
The price is way too high for a non limited guitar… it is a heavy aged ML, artist series… maybe 12k would position it well versus the regular offering?
At the same time it is also a slap in the face to those who bought the limited version for 50k…
Not cool for CC1 aged owners either… then again i don’t think it will impact CC1 aged value as these were limited….
Gibson knows how much wealth has been consolidated and middle class people don't have disposable income anymore. Or at least the same way the top 10% does. These guitars are targeting hedge fund managers, not podiatrists.
