Those are from the last run of Greco LP style guitars from around 2012. I haven’t seen any reviews of these.

Somebody buy it before I do! 1982-83 Grecos are some of the best.

Wulfman, that was a good call you made on this guitar! I did buy it, it has now arrived, and it's beautiful! Better yet, it has a serial number: 2 XXXX.

It was so badly photographed, and the seller had put so little information about it, that I and everybody else let it sit for 2 weeks or more while the auction went from Automatic Extension to Automatic Extension, because of the doubts seller created about it maybe being yet another O-cut MIK. I haven't played it yet but, just from looking, it appears to be every inch the real deal. No idea what its model number is - maybe you can tell me what to look for? I'm assuming for now it's a 50. It can be anything, for all I care, 'cos it's gorgeous. It doesn't even have any buckle rash!

Just check the pickups for SCREAMIN or DOUBLE TRICK pickups, or to see if they are neither.

And the answer is ... "neither" (???).

Any idea what they are?

Any clues from the pots, or pickup rout?

Is it "Fujigen"?

It’s a Fujigen for sure but the pickups are not Maxon or Fujigen. If the neck has an extra piece added at the heel then it is 99% an EG59-50. Looks like a nice one.

So ... someone has already plundered it of its Dry Zees and replaced them with MIKs?

Never mind ... it's at moments like this that buying guitars on Yahoo Japan brings to us gaijan a bigger adrenalin rush than a weekend in Las Vegas!

Lucky I have a U3000 and maybe a U1000 or U2000 to slot into the breach. But I'll give these pickups a listen first, in case they turn out to be alright.

And yes ... it has an extra piece added at the heel. So it's an EG59-50.

What pickups would be nice to put in it, now that I'm starting with a clean slate?

Already on hand here in the parts drawer are: U1000 x2, U2000 x 2, U3000 x 1, Dimarzio 1980 PAF x 1, Duncan SH4 JB, and Duncan SH2 JN. And possibly a PU 2 (claimed in Item Description, but not yet verified).
