Bump to the top cause this LP needs to at least be seen where it can't be heard... :D

I don't know how I missed this thread before, but you have some good gear for sure. How does the AC15 sound with both guitars?

They both sound great through the AC15. I've been playing almost exclusively through the top boost channel and was thinking last night that I need to spend some time with the normal channel. I had planned to start doing that last night but fell asleep on the couch so didn't end up playing at all. I'll start messing around with the normal channel tonight.

Which Strat is this one?

It is a MIM Standard that I picked up just over a month ago.

Nice! Love the olympic white strat too!

It is a MIM so it is actually Arctic white. I think they look very similar but that mine won't age in the same way as an Olympic White one will.

What sort of AC15 is that? Really different to the norm!

It is just a normal AC15 internally but they dressed it up in blue tolex and different grill cloth to mimick how the AC30s and some AC15s looked in 1963. These are a limited edition run of 650 worldwide. Canada's largest gear retailer, from which I bought mine, only got four of them so we figure there are like a dozen in the country when all retailers are combined. Mine was the first ordered and first delivered.

Love that Amber!

It is actually a Honey Burst.

Very, very nice! Is that LP Trans amber or light burst? In any case, looks stunning!

It is a Honey Burst. As I have said earlier in the thread, it sometimes looks too yellow (which explains why some people think it is amber or lemon). But at other times, as seen in the older photo below (taken before I did some mods), it looks much more brown.

In this photo I think it looks quite like JMB1984's gorgeous new 2012 Standard (check out the first picture in his NGD thread to see what I mean):

The normal mode sounded good in some sound clips I heard online. I particularly liked the clips I found pairing a strat with this amp.

As mentioned, I really like how both guitars are on the top boost channel and expect I will like the normal channel just as much even though that channel takes the tone controls out of the loop. As soon as I finish watching the news and responding to a couple of emails I've been neglecting I will be plugging in to the normal channel for a little while. I think both guitars will pair well with it in their own way.

I also took pictures of my AC15:

Beautiful wood you have there, col :yesway:

Now the AC15,one of my favourite amps. Period.
Sometimes love it even more so than my 2203 and AC30.

What is that? A Ltd Editon model of some sort :hmm: Has to be. I love it. Looks very JTMish.
What glass are you running in it? You owe it to both of you to roll some NOS in the frontend ,at least. I guarantee you will hear and love the upgrade.

How do you run it? Do you run it clean with pedals or run it flatstick? Maybe you A/B the channels?

See. This is why I love this lil' bastard. Soooo many tonal options :yesway:

* didn't read all posts,as usual. Post #23 answered most of my Q's.
I see you're running primarily through the TB channel,so I'm guessing you're not running many,if any, pedals through it. And if you are, probably find that you just aren't getting that tone. Correct?

It is a great amp :thumb:

This one is exactly the same as other AC15s, it is simply done up in a different tolex and grill cloth. They made blue AC30s in 1963 (and there is photographic evidence of at least one AC15 Twin done in the blue that year as well) so they released limited edition AC30s and AC15s this year to commemorate that. There were only 250-300 (cannot remember which) of the AC30s made worldwide and 650 of the AC15s. Mine was the first ordered and delivered in Canada. Other than the tolex and grill cloth though, it is exactly the same as all other AC15s.

Right now I am running straight into the amp with no pedals at all. But I am picking up an MXR Distortion III this weekend so that I can try it out and see what I think. I have read that the amp doesn't always handle pedals well and that people do a bright cap mod to overcome that. I will wait to see what I think of that pedal in front of it (or possibly other pedals I might buy if I am not satisfied with the Distortion III) before I even consider doing a mod to the amp. If I find it necessary I will do it but, right now, I am happy enough with it that I am not in any rush to do any mods.

I am not jumping the channels at the moment but plan to at some point. As mentioned a few posts upthread, I have played mainly on the top boost channel and both guitars work well on that channel. Tonight I am going to make a point of using the normal channel (and will continue to do so for a few days) to see how the two guitars work on that one.

At the moment I am still using the stock tubes. I like the amp the way it is so just haven't bothered swapping tubes yet. I do plan to do so as I know other tubes can make the amp even better, I have just been enjoying the amp too much thus far to be bothered. Plus, there are so many possibilities for replacement tubes that it is a bit overwhelming to someone who isn't used to swapping tubes so I am going to have to do some research to figure out which to choose. Maybe I'll start a thread here to find out what other owners have used and what they thought of the various options.

Edited To Add: I just noticed your last edit to your post but think I covered your questions in my answer above.
