Im told the GT's need a 10mm hole.

What are the dimensions of the tuner holes on CS R9's and R7's (assume they're the same as both use Klusons)?

2nd whats the best way to go about removal of the bushings?

Should a drill press be used to open up the hole ideally?

Insert a drill shank that's big enough to use to press the bushing out from the back side. (Or if you have a transfer punch, that's better.)

To ream the holes to the larger size, use reamers. I use machinist's taper pin reamers, which work slowly and gently and make it very unlikely that you're going to snap part of the headstock off.

When I do that kind of reaming on headstocks, I turn the bit backwards so that it doesn't try to dig in. The wood is soft enough that metal bits turning backwards remove material pretty easily with less chance of damaging the finished surfaces.

Just my dos centavos...
