I was looking for a twelve string guitar. I am not familiar with acoustic twelve string guitars and never owned one. I have been asking around a little. A friend owns a nice guitar shop called to tell me it took a nice one in. I it is an early Christmas present. A Yamaha FG 230 made it Japan, about 1968 to 1973 I am told. I brought it home and it is new to learn, not as easy as I hoped. I been told Japan made some great stuff. That is true. A few bumps a nick or two, it is over 40 years old.

First time I really got to play and it is very cool. I tuned it one step down. The ones from the 70s did not have the lowest action, so I cappoed it at the second fret. Plays great and the tone is much better than the new ones I tested. I was just going to get one off the web and learn to like it. I am glade I didn't.

I put it off, I never liked them. I have had requests for back up sounds with one. I have small paws and it ain't easy.

Have been considering picking up a 12-string for myself for quite some time... got lots of good advice from the guys here on MLP... one of the guys actually recommended the very model that you got, and so now I'm jealous on top of being happy for you!
