Originally they sold for $850....if i remember correctly.

That is why I am asking here for your opinion. I would not.

Well,... it is a different used market than a couple of years ago....so people are asking for numbers i can't relate to....but they can surely ask.

To answer your original post...........No, it is not acceptable to me.

So he has it at triple the value and is stating it is a rare piece?

Les Paul BFG, right? I have absolutely zero detailed knowledge of this guitar, and my instant first impression after seeing the photo for 2 seconds was '$800-$1000'. Looks like I wasn't too off from list price from back in the day.

Inflation being what it is, I'm noticing a lot of models sell used (advertised as) for more than they were new.

I think I paid around $850 for mine when they were new. I had the same color. The BB3 and P90 were a bad match. The edges were sharp everywhere and gave new meaning to the term "belly cut". It would also cut into my forearm. Sure you can take some sandpaper or steel wool to it. I loved the color, and the top finish, but I returned it after a week or so- It felt like an 8th grade shop class project.

I would go buy a Tribute for a grand. . I would never pay $1500 for one.

It's examples like this that make me say people are completely unrealistic in their used asking prices.

There's four, count em four, used Studio faded models near me. The lowest is $1400, the highest is $1700! These models got blown out at $899, $999 only two or three years ago.

I would say NOT, definitely NOT a collectors guitar especially @ $1500.

You can get a VASTLY better LP for $1500

The bridge and tailpiece studs look like they were sitting on the bottom of a lake since 2001 … awful

Towards the end of their run, they were available for $599 on clearance. How could I not buy ANY Gibson Les Paul at that price? Stupid me ...
