Do you have a picture of the headstock? Did it have the bound hs w/ the crown inlay? I always though that was such a classy look, and it looked like your standard blue-collar Gibson headstock, but dressed up.

The subtle asymmetry of the flame on this top instantly brings to mind another guitar, 9-2074 - otherwise known as 'the African'...

It is widely considered to be one of, if not, the most highly prized flame top of any of the original 1958-1960 bursts. Yours is definitely channeling this one. I dig.
