I wish they would make the slash sticker on back of headstock a decal that comes off easy (is it already?). then it would just be nicely spec'd les paul without the hero worship piece to it. ps I love Slash Velvet Revolver and GnR but still...

No. The '4' is just pure stupidity and is an absolute deal-breaker on this one.

Hear, hear! I see the Slash line as a refreshing twist to the 50s Std. Love the specs and bold colors. Looking forward to my next one.

They are now doing with Slash as they did with Joe B….way… way too many signature models. They are just beating that angle to death to the point there’s really nothing all that special about these releases and have completely lost most peoples interest. When the running joke is I wonder what this years Slash sig. model will look like you know it’s been played out to the fullest. Just do the Slashbird with the Firebird headstock already and get it over with and lets ends this shit for at least a year or two. I need a Slash break

I bought my slash standard because its a pretty good fucking guitar and just so happened to be extremely playable.

I could give a shit whose name is on it if it's a good guitar. And I'm so happy with the one I bought last fall I'm down sizing my collection

Glad you found a good one. I actually dig the look of some of them myself and wouldn’t mind having one but my point was I think some of us are getting a little tired of having his Slashness jammed down our throat every chance Gibson gets is all

That's fair.
He's making money and Gibson is making money, I get it.

The one I bought caught my eye because of the top and then I played it. After playing it I had no qualms about the upcharge and actually just swapped the 'slashbucker' PUPS out for SD APH-2s (I personally fucking love those pups)

I really wanted to get one last year, just loved the anaconda burst and the red one, his signatures have some amazing finishes and tops but I couldn’t bond at all with the one in the store. Neck profile was chunkier than I like. Still have GAS for one, but may have to wait a while. Glad you found a good one!

That's what we get when a company is stuck with almost all of it's eggs in a sixty year old basket (Les Paul model) and it's a short list of famous players in the last thirty years associated with it.

Yes, another (innecessary?) slash model to the list, buy have to admit that sounds incredible.
Really impressed, that's the perfect sound:

This is HILARIOUS…. Brilliant advert placement.

twice during the unboxing video I’ve gotten ads.

Both times….. Fender.

Not surprised, YT is getting ridiculous with ads. I use AdBlocker and I was still getting ads. Uninstalling it, clearing my cache, reinstalling has taken care of it fortunately.

I'm all about Capitalism. I Hope Slash and Gibson are making a freakin' killing on them. Same for Dave Mustaine or whomever else they wanna make sig guitars for. None of this makes me lose any sleep at night, and if it does for any of you, counseling may be in order. :laugh2:

Joe B should be next, right?

Yep, I wanted the Appetite model, but after playing it, that chunky 58 type of neck was just too big for me to like.

Seriously, I would love an available DG335 in the Pelham blue. Put it at a similar price point to all the Sloosh Les Pauls and just watch it sell.

I think part of the limited edition guitar is to help promote the new record label. It'll be interesting to see which other bands they get?

Trying to think of current or up and coming bands that the guitarist plays a Les Paul, I'd bet Gibson goes hard at Dirty Honey.

I've listened to the album twice. Big G&R fan here. Slash's solo stuff has intrigued me, but this album so far hasn't had a song that really jumped out at me like Driving Rain, Shadow Life, 30 Years to Life etc. did on prior albums

^^^ALL OF THIS.
Some of you guys really need to get a grip. It's just a guitar release that NO ONE is forcing anybody to buy. Moaning on and on about a variety of options is flat out ridiculous.

I like the color, but adding several more hundred dollars for the same Standard, minus the ugly 4 sticker, that I've got makes no sense. Actually, I like my standard better. :) to each their own.

With only 250 made, not too surprised it sold out fast. A huge chunk prob got bought by the Reverb flippers. Will be curious to see if they actually sell at those asking prices. I can’t imagine any regular player spending 10k when they can get the same guitar in the other finishes for 3k new. I get the “collector” value and limited edition thing, but usually those guitars have some unique features or specs you can’t get on another model.
