Anybody know why a circuit board is installed in my 2017 LP/SG? I can't find quick connect pickups anywhere, I think I want to move on from the burstbucker in my bridge. Do I have to gut the whole thing and rewire it? Such a shame because I'd like to leave the rhythm burstbucker in the neck but it seems like it's one or the other.

There's a few of us that shelled out for the crimp tool and Molex connectors to install those quick connects on any pickups but, to be honest, you're much better off converting to a standard wired system than trying to convert all the pickups you may ever want to try to those stupid quick connects, especially if you want to try different value/brand/taper/design pots and caps and/or different wiring circuits (most here like the 50's wiring circuit in Gibsons).

Juk, it seems like there is almost no option at this point unfortunately. You can't even find quick connect pickups anywhere even though both my Gibson's came with them. Gibson doesn't even have quick connect pickups on their website.

I really wish Gibson didn't box me in like this. Now I'm going to have to rewire this myself and I have no experience doing such a thing. It should be a fun project but why Gibson would wire their pickups completely different than any other pickup on the market is idiotic. I wanted to keep the BB in the neck, now I realize, that is absolutely impossible. The BB in the bridge is harsh and unusable. Too bad I can't swap one pickup but nope, have to replace both pickups and completely rewire the entire guitar. :wtf:

Anybody worth their flux fumes can solder directly to the board. Or put in pots for about 30 bux.

there are some on reverb for like $30. He does the color codes for whatever pickup manufacturer you want.

None of us had experience in it before the first time!

I started from pickup swapping and last fall I soldered an amp for myself.

Good luck anyway!

Here's the quick connect adaptors that came with my HP Standard... http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5338014323&icep_item=263478472080 The screws make them completely reusable for as many pups as you want to try out. One set is all you need...I love them.
or http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5338014323&icep_item=272821393906 Mine are for four wires with screws and are ridiculously easy to do...no soldering...just be certain to do the color conversions.

I'm not certain if it's different for 1 or 2 connectors.

There ya go! I was gonna suggest plugs with screw clamps, I use them a lot, but this is even better!

Well, and for about $25 you get some spare parts along with the adaptors. The adaptors alone are well worth $25...IMHO.
Come to think of it, I think I will order these for my other PCB equipped LP that didn't come with them. Perhaps I should contact Gibson to see it they will send me a set.... :hmm:

Just get the screw clamp adaptor. It solves all the pup swap issues, is super easy and painless.
