Hi guys,

I know that the body shape (bevelling, edges, horns) on Gibson SG Standards had differed a lot since the 60s but what about the LP Standards?

Is the body shape of a LP Standard and e.g. the carved top "always" nearly the same since decades?

Thanks for your help in advance :)

It has changed over the decades :)

Two major changes were that the carving on the top became "less curvy" in the 70's and also at some point in the 70's the cutaway was done with a slightly different curve.

The flatter top probably started in the late 60's and lasted into the early 80's and the cutaway change happened at some point in the mid 70's.

However, i have no accurate start and end years for these changes though, so take them as a rough estimate.

I have no idea whether the LP body shape and carving style have changed in the Juskiewicz period.
